2025 sees the Canaan Trust achieve 30 years of meeting the needs of the homeless and those threatened with the impact of becoming homeless. Over the past 30 years the Trust has supported 1000’s to “Re-build their Lives.
In 2025 the Trust will open ASPIRE HOUSE, the new dedicated house providing 24-7 supported accommodation for 9 homeless women. The Trust is delighted to serve the community in it’s unique way. 45% of funding the Trust needs to deliver services are raised through charitable fund-raising and donations.

Registration:
All participents must register in advance. You must be over 18 to take part. If you are under 18 you may take part accompanied by a parent, guardian or nominated adult – please complete the parental consent form. Under 16’s will, at the appropriate time, ‘bed down’ for the night on the floor of St Laurence’s Church which is immediately adjacent to the Sleep Out location.
Fundraising:
We ask you to raise a minimum of £25 sponsorship. Sponsorship forms will be sent out with the Registration Pack. Online fundraising is quick and easy – you can make a donation or set up your own Justgiving on-line fundraising page by going to and clicking on the ‘Fund Raise for Us’ button.

On the Night:
You will be responsible for your own weather protection and comfort. Refreshments, in terms of hot water, tea and coffee, will be available through the night. Please do not bring alcohol. All Canaan Trust staff are First Aid qualified and a First Aid Pack will be available in case of emergencies (Trust staff will be identifiable in a Trust fluorescent jacket).
Timing:
7pm to 8pm – Arrival and Registration.
8pm – Sleep Out Launch (Welcome, Safety briefing, Official Launch).
11pm to 6am – Quiet time/sleep. Under 16’s and responsible adults move to St Laurence Church.
7am – Sleep Out concludes.
