Sleep Out 2022
It was wonderful to be able to have so many join in the Annual Sleep Out in 2022. For the past two years the covid pandemic meant that the Sleep Out, like all the other major fundraisers on which the Trust depends had to be cancelled. This year over 50 faithful supporters signed up to sleep out in the Market Place, by the War Memorial, in Long Eaton Town Centre.
The numbers were down on previous years but we expected that as in April everyone was still just beginning to get use to the gradual relaxation of covid restrictions.
The Annual Sleepout is an essential Public fundraiser for the Trust. In previous years the Sleep Out has helped generate over £15,000 in sponsorship which has helped fund the Trust’s critical services supporting and caring for those who are homeless, in danger of becoming homeless, or in need.
The Trust has missed the benefit of the Sleep Out for the last two years both in terms of charitable donations but also in terms of public engagement with the work of the Trust.
The 50 plus participants in 2022 generously helped to raise just over £5,000 through their sponsorship. These funds will help make a huge difference enabling the Trust to continue to meet the ever growing calls on the Trust’s services and resources.
The Trust would like to publically record its appreciation and gratitude to everyone who took part in the Sleep Out this year and to all who generously sponsored their efforts.
Sleep Out 2023
The Trust is hoping that in 2023 many more individuals, groups, companies will look to put the date of the Sleep Out in your diaries and will look to join us for the night.
Date – the date of the Sleep Out is easy to remember! The Annual Sleep Out takes place on the same night every year: the Friday immediately after Easter. In 2023 the Sleep Out will take place on Friday 14th April.
